Un'altro appuntamento: Primo Levi

The Italian Cultural Institute of New York will be holding another noteworthy event this month called "A Tribute to Primo Levi."

The tribute will take place on Jan. 29, which according to the ICI, coincides with commemorations of the “Giornata della memoria,” in remembrance of all the victims of the Holocaust.

The evening's panel of speakers features a number of people whose work intersects with the deceased Italian writer and chemist, most known for his book, "Se Questo E' Un Uomo" (you may notice it's in my section, Libri Che Mi Piacciono), or in English, "Survival in Auschwitz."

I can recommend at least one of the panelists: Risa Sodi. She was my Italian professor way back in the early 1990s. Her research focuses on Italian Jews and the Holocaust, and she interviewed Primo Levi in the 1980s.

IO RIPETO: o se vivessi a New York o in un posto dove ci vivono italiani, oppure almeno studiosi e esperti che si occupano delle lettere e la storia dell'Italia. Mannaggia la miseria!
