Please file this under, oh why oh why can't I be in Italy right now?!
Until next Sunday (April 1), the Valdobbiadene area in Treviso, which makes some of the best sparkling wine anywhere, will hold a sagra or festival for its chief export, prosecco.
The festival takes places in the little town of Santo Stefano. In order to properly taste the prosecco, the fair will pair glasses of the beautiful frizzy white nectar with gnocchi, pesce e risotti. Niente male, eh?
According to the organizers, the festival serves to "valorizzare i vini e la piccola frazione di Santo Stefano, famosa per gli splendidi panorami, dove il sole splende a ogni ora e in ogni stagione." Don't you want to go now, too?
