Santa Croce

I took this picture last summer while walking on old cowpaths north of Benevento, in Campania. Not far from the village of San Marco dei Cavoti, where I spent three enchanted days in August.

The local government is trying to promote tourism in the area by providing guides to the old cowpaths. It's still a little murky, and rest assured we were the only people wandering around the open fields outside of town. But that's probably because it was the dog days of August! (Come to think of it, there were some dogs wandering around those fields with us)
